REPRESENTING LAUNCH

As members of the LAUNCH Performance Team, all students and their families are ambassadors for our studio both on and off the stage. We ask everyone to represent LAUNCH with kindness, respect and professionalism by displaying good sportsmanship, supporting fellow dancers, respecting teachers, volunteers and competition staff, and maintaining a positive attitude throughout each event.

Our focus is on providing opportunities to perform, build performance skills, develop teamwork, uphold Director Michelle's performance standards for LAUNCH, and celebrate both individual and team growth. While awards are exciting, they are never our measure of success. We are most proud of the progress, resilience and confidence our dancers demonstrate throughout the season.

EISTEDDFOD REHEARSALS

Additional rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the eisteddfod season where required to ensure our teams are performance-ready. While we always aim to provide as much notice as possible, families will receive a minimum of two weeks' notice of dates for any additional rehearsal.

HAIR & MAKE-UP STYLING

HAIRSTYLING

Provided by/executed the parent/guardian prior to arrival

To ensure every performer looks polished and professional under bright stage lighting, all hair must be neat, secure, performance-ready, and built to last the full show.

Please use plenty of hairspray, gel or mousse, and pins to keep hair slick, smooth, and free from whispies. Hair ties, pins, and nets should always be matched to the performer’s hair colour.

Front fringes may remain out only if they are neat and securely styled off the face.

Please pack these hair supplies for touch-ups and quick changes:

- Brush

- Comb

- Plenty of spare hair ties (matching hair colour)

- Hairspray

- Bobby pins or bun pins (matching hair colour)

HAIR STYLE

As per your age group found on the Costume & Styling Checklist found above or click here

MAKEUP
Provided by/executed the parent/guardian/student prior to arrival

Stage lighting is very bright and without makeup, performers' facial features can become washed out and less visible to the audience. Makeup helps define and emphasise their features, ensuring they are clearly seen from a distance.

Please refer to the provided video tutorials for additional guidance. Thank you for your attention to these makeup requirements.

FEMALE PERFORMERS

1. Foundation

2. Blush

3. Dark brown, smokey eyeshadow

4. Darkened eyebrows (if eyebrows are fair)

5. Mascara

6. Black winged eyeliner

7. Strong, bright red lipstick (a smudge-proof liquid lipstick like the Maybelline Superstay range is a good choice).

ADDITIONALLY FOR 12/U, 15/U & SENIOR STUDENTS

Spectator passes can be pre-purchased for $25 per session through TryBooking. Passes purchased at the door will be $30 per session. Upon arrival, please exchange your TryBooking ticket at the DLU Front Desk for a spectator wristband. This wristband allows you to enter and exit the venue freely throughout the session you have purchased.

DANCER PASSES ARE NOT COMPULSORY – They cost $10 for the entire weekend and allow dancers to enter the audience to watch other routines.
