We’re turning up the music - because You Should Be Dancing! This year’s Petite End of Year Concert is one big celebration. Our Preschool and Mini dancers are ready to bring the party, lighting up the stage with sparkles, smiles, and plenty of grooving. It’s the ultimate dance celebration bursting with passion and joy.
Get ready to clap, cheer, and dance along - the party starts now!

Participating in a concert is a joyful and confidence-building part of the LAUNCH training journey. For our youngest dancers, this experience is about so much more than the performance itself — it’s about learning new skills, building focus, and developing stage confidence in a supportive and inspiring environment. Every rehearsal builds not only coordination, memory, and musicality, but also resilience, teamwork, and pride in effort.
From standing tall on stage and taking in the moment, to remembering their steps and performing with expression, every part of the process reflects growth and achievement. These skills form the foundation of strong, confident dancers — both on and off the stage.
The friendships formed, the laughter shared, and the joy of performing together create memories that last long beyond concert day. Each round of applause celebrates not just the dance, but the dedication, courage, and progress of every student.

WEEKLY CLASS ATTENDANCE
Dance is a team sport; the greatest success comes when all members work together. Our dedicated teachers work extremely hard preparing students, making it very important for everyone to attend all lessons and rehearsals. In the event that a student needs to miss a class, we kindly request that you notify us in advance through your parent portal. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
CONCERT REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE
It's important for your child to attend all concert rehearsals. Not only are they a really fun and memorable part of the process, these rehearsals contribute greatly to feeling confident on stage and perform at their best. Your support is crucial for your child's success in dance, and we greatly appreciate it.
If there is any reason why your child will not be able to perform at the concert on the dates and times provided, please let us know so we can make amendments to the class routines involving them and their peers.

Are you unsure of what age group your child is in? Check out the table below. If you are unsure of what your child’s classes are called, please check enrolment on your parent portal through the LAUNCH app, give us a call or send us an email.

NAMING BELONGINGS
It’s very important that all of your child’s belongings are clearly labelled. With very close to 600 students at LAUNCH, even with our thorough concert organisation, refined procedures, and dedicated staff, items can occasionally be misplaced. The last thing we want is for shoes or costume pieces to go missing right before a routine - especially if they’re not named.
As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, LAUNCH cannot be held accountable for any lost items. However, our team is always committed to helping locate and return any misplaced belongings. Clear labelling ensures we can do this quickly and effectively.
ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE NAMED:
- Bags
- Uniforms
- Shoes
- Water Bottles
- Stockings/Socks
- Food Containers
- Hair and Make-up supplies
- Any other personal items
JEWELLERY REMOVAL
For safety during our dress rehearsal and concert performance, all jewellry, including earrings, must be removed from performers bodies to avoid hazards, ensure uniformity, and prevent loss. If a piercing cannot be removed, cover it with small bandaids or skin-coloured strapping tape. This aligns with safety standards for team sports, promoting a safe performance environment. Your cooperation is appreciated.
DEVICE COLLECTION
We collect all student’s devices at sign in for the duration of our rehearsals and concert events. Please leave any unnecessary devices at home. First and foremost this is for the privacy and safety of all students during costume changes and secondly to encourage social interaction, presence and bonding in our teams. We also provide colouring in and special visits from movie characters.
Devices are stored safely in the staff room at the venue and returned just prior to sign out. Should you need to contact your child our LAUNCH phone number (07) 55 277 724 is diverted on concert day and our admin email and SMS’s are checked all day. Your children know to come and let us know if they need to speak with you.
Upon emergency, you can seek help from a theatre usher/staff member and they will come and speak to us backstage.

We kindly request that students arrive promptly at the allocated rehearsal and concert day times to ensure we can keep to schedule and everyone is calm, confident and ready to go.

Should sign-in or sign-out times change, LAUNCH will contact you. Unless we send you an SMS the times remain the same.
PRESCHOOL WRISTBANDS
At the sign-in desk for the dress rehearsal and concert performance, each preschooler will receive one or more wristbands. These wristbands will display the child's name, the colour corresponding to their class, and the dance genres they are participating in.
This process has proved remarkably effective in ensuring safety across all areas of the event and in assisting dressing room attendants who are meeting your child for the first time. You are free to remove their wristband once they are returned to you from both the Dress Rehearsal and Concert events.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS
If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign in.

The studio always buzzes with the infectious energy our students bring when they rehearse together. They take pride in their accomplishments as they showcase their routines, observe other performances, and revel in the joy of dance! The thrill of costumes, creative hairstyles, and lightning-quick costume changes is simply unbeatable.
PURPOSE: This rehearsal is intended for students to become familiar with the concert's running order, get their nerves out, ensure proper spacing in our largest studio, rehearse costume changes, as well as address any costuming issues that may arise.

While our preference is always to hold both the technical rehearsal and concert on weekends, venue availability on at The Star Gold Coast is extremely limited and always booked more than five years in advance. As a result, most local dance studios, including ours, are required to schedule these events on weekdays and weeknights.
This means some students will need to take time off school. We make every effort to minimise this impact by ensuring each age group requires only one day off school across the rehearsal and concert period. These dates are always included in our calendar since January and communicated regularly throughout the year.
PURPOSE: This rehearsal is mandatory for all performers to adhere to the venue's policies. It allows students to become acquainted with the venue, practice on the stage, find out where they stand and which wing they enter and exit through and address any potential issues. Additionally, this rehearsal plays a crucial role in fine-tuning the show's technical elements, such as sound and lighting.

HAIRSTYLING
Performances on stage require hair styling to be very neat and tightly secured with as much hairspray, hair gel/mousse and bobby pins as necessary to ensure it is slick and without whispies. Hair ties must be the same colour as their hair. Front fringes are allowed to be left out if neat. Hair supplies for touch-ups and changes are required to be packed:
1. Brush
2. Spare hair ties (same as hair colour)
FEMALE PERFORMERS:
Two tight, slick, high pigtails with a middle part (must use gel & hairspray). Pigtails must be straight up in line with their ears, just behind where a headband is worn.
Our short-haired superstars are required to use as much hair in their pigtails as reaches the hair tie.
Ready Set Dance branded hair accessories can be sent to wear with their finale costume. Please ensure that they are named.
MALE PERFORMERS:
Neat and off the face
MAKEUP
Optional for female preschool students. We know how exciting it can be for our little ones to wear special stage makeup.
Stage lighting is very bright and performers' facial features can become washed out and less visible to the audience. Makeup helps define and emphasise their features, ensuring they are clearly seen from a distance.
Note: Do not send makeup with the students in their bag. This age group tend to want to “touch up” their make-up all by themselves.
LIGHT MAKE-UP SUGGESTION
- Mascara
- Blush
- Natural-coloured lipstick ie, light pink toned (a smudge-proof liquid lipstick like the Maybelline Superstay range is a good choice)
