Join us for a special evening celebrating the dedication, growth, and talent of our LAUNCH students, from Pre-Junior through to Senior.

Across the first two terms, these recreational and performance team dancers have worked with passion and purpose, building their skills and confidence. Now, they’re ready to take the stage and share their journey with you in a high-energy showcase.

We look forward to sharing this moment with our LAUNCH family.

THE LAUNCH CONCERT EXPERIENCE

Participating in our Mid Year Concert is an exciting and confidence-building part of the LAUNCH training journey. Our Pre-Junior to Senior students take the stage to showcase the work they have developed throughout Terms 1 and 2.

Presented in genre sections, the concert gives families an insight into each dancer’s growth, training, and performance development, while allowing students to gain valuable live theatre experience.

Most importantly, it’s a rewarding opportunity for our dancers to share their passion and celebrate their progress throughout the first half of the year.

MAKEUP
Provided by/executed the parent/guardian/student prior to arrival

Stage lighting is very bright and without makeup, performers' facial features can become washed out and less visible to the audience. Makeup helps define and emphasise their features, ensuring they are clearly seen from a distance.

NAMING BELONGINGS, JEWELLERY REMOVAL, DEVICES COLLECTION, NAIL POLISH

NAMING BELONGINGS
Please ensure all of your child’s belongings are clearly labelled. With close to 600 students at LAUNCH, items can occasionally be misplaced. Named items help our team quickly return anything that goes missing.

As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, LAUNCH cannot be responsible for lost items, but we will always do our best to help locate them.

ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE NAMED:

- Bags

- Uniforms

- Shoes

- Water Bottles

- Stockings/Socks

- Food Containers

- Hair and Make-up supplies

- Any other personal items

JEWELLERY REMOVAL

Similar to sporting activities, for safety during rehearsals and performances, all jewellery (including earrings) must be removed. If a piercing cannot be removed, must be covered with a small bandaid or skin-coloured strapping tape.

NAILS
For a clean and polished stage appearance, all students must have clean, natural nails for performances. This includes unnatural nail colours, bright polish and nail art. Acrylics or press-on nails are not permitted for safety whilst performing.

DEVICE COLLECTION

All student devices are collected at sign-in and returned at sign-out. This protects student privacy during costume changes and encourages social interaction backstage.

Devices are stored safely by staff. If you need to contact your child, please call the LAUNCH phone number (07) 5527 7724 or contact us via email or SMS. In an emergency, a theatre usher can assist in contacting our backstage team.

ADDITIONAL CONCERT INFORMATION & PROCEDURES

THE STAR GOLD COAST PARKING

Parking at The Star Gold Coast in now paid. See parking information and rates here: https://www.star.com.au/goldcoast/about-us/locate-us. Please allow time to find a park and arrive at the theatre promptly for sign in & out.

BACKSTAGE STAFF

Each dressing room is allocated with enough staff and volunteers to ensure all students are cared for, dressed and ready for their performances.

ARRIVAL

Students should be dressed in their READY SET DANCE or LAUNCH uniform. This helps us to easily identify all LAUNCH students.

Please ensure you arrive promptly at your allocated arrival time to avoid any delays.

ENTRY BACKSTAGE

Only LAUNCH staff and registered parent helpers are permitted to enter the backstage area. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for rehearsal and the concert.

All students will be ushered directly from sign in to their allocated dressing rooms by staff and helpers.

FOOD AND DRINK

Costumes are easily ruined by food and drink stains. Students are not permitted to leave the backstage area during rehearsal or the concert so please pack enough food and drink.

It is important they have something nutritious to keep their energy up as well as something that won’t stain – this means NO fast food, greasy snacks and chips, etc.

They also need to bring a sufficient amount of water.

Due to our students with nut allergies, we have a STRICT NO NUTS OR NUT PRODUCTS policy.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Children are discouraged from bringing any valuables including phones, iPads etc. as the venue and LAUNCH Performing Arts Centre are not responsible for any items lost, damaged or stolen.

Unreasonable or defiant behaviour will not be tolerated by the LAUNCH Performing Arts Centre staff, venue staff or backstage helpers.
